Executive Cybersecurity Readiness Program

Cyber Resiliency Starts at the Top

Cyber-attacks have the potential to impact our national security, economic growth, and consumer confidence. Every organization, regardless of size or geographic location, is a potential target. Preparing for and responding to this growing threat is necessary – and it is an executive responsibility.

Organizations that are the most prepared to mitigate cyber risks have executives that are aware and informed of the current cybersecurity threat environment. Executives and Boards of Directors set policy, approve budgets, and provide oversight and leadership. Setting the tone from the top is essential. Cybersecurity risk management is not primarily an IT issue. It is a cross-departmental responsibility that requires executive leadership and support. It is an organizational imperative.

Sage Data Security’s Executive Cybersecurity Readiness Program aims to enhance an organization’s ability to prepare for and respond to cyber-attacks by keeping Executives and Boards of Directors up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity landscape.

Onsite Cybersecurity Board Briefing

This annual in-depth briefing includes a threat landscape panoramic and discussion of best practices to minimize and mitigate cyber risk, with an update on regulatory expectations. CPE credits are available upon request.

Quarterly Cybersecurity Webinar

The quarterly webinar will focus on evolving cyber threats and attacks. The webinar is limited to Executive Cybersecurity Readiness Program subscribers and will provide a forum to discuss cybersecurity issues.

Cybersecurity Resilience Assessment

The objective of a Cybersecurity Resilience Assessment is to answer two fundamental questions for your organization – how are we doing and what else should we be doing to strengthen our cybersecurity practices. The Assessment will provide you with a repeatable and measurable process to gauge your cybersecurity preparedness over time. It can be used to help identify and prioritize actions for reducing cybersecurity risk and it is a tool for aligning policy, business, and technological approaches to managing that risk.

Assessing your cybersecurity resiliency is complex and can be a daunting, resource-intensive task. Sage’s collaborative approach ensures that the assessment process is effective, educational, and most importantly, provides actionable outcomes. The assessment is conducted workshop style. After the workshop the responses are analyzed by Sage personnel, entered to a draft report for the institution’s review and comment, and then Sage provides a final cybersecurity resiliency report.

Assessment Options

  • NIST Cybersecurity Resilience Assessment: The methodology used for this assessment is based on the NIST Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity and adapted by Sage Data Security to suit organizations who are the custodians of privileged and confidential information.

  • FFIEC Cybersecurity Resilience Assessment: In light of the increasing volume and sophistication of cyber threats, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) developed the Cybersecurity Assessment Tool (Assessment), to help institutions identify their risks and determine their cybersecurity preparedness. Every financial institution will be expected to complete this or an equivalent assessment.

Cyber Incident Response Exercise

A practiced response is the difference between success and failure. If you are just getting started, you can utilize our Incident Preparedness exercise that is designed to start the right conversations and planning initiatives. The next phase is an exercise that will put your Incident Response Plan to the test and identify opportunities for improvement. Executives, directors, designated incident handlers, and other stakeholders may participate in either exercise. CPE credits are available upon request.

The Sage Cybersecurity Lifecycle

The Sage Data Security Cybersecurity Lifecycle

Cybersecurity isn’t a destination.

There is no single, straight path that will get you to the point where you can say, “We did it! We’re 100% cyber-secure.”

A more realistic destination is cyber resiliency – the ability to prepare for and adapt to changing conditions, so you can withstand and recover rapidly from disruptions. Achieving cyber resilience depends on what we like to call the cybersecurity lifecycle – an ongoing cycle of interconnected elements that compliment and reinforce one another.
